Free Workshop: How to Run for Political Office
The Free Library of Philadelphia Senior Series is giving a free seminar on how to run a political campaign. This might truly be your calling. Check out the deets below:
If you’ve ever wanted to run for public office—-or been curious about the pleasures and heartaches that come with being a political candidate, we’ve got a great program for you! This Thursday morning at 11:00 A.M., Philadelphia City Commissioner Al Schmidt will join us to provide a practical introduction to the world of the candidate. Schmidt, a reform Republican, has opposed both the Old Guard of his own party and the Democratic machine. Among the subjects he will discuss are how to build a campaign organization, raise money, comply with existing election laws and how a candidate can make the best use of his or her time. This is your chance to meet a man, who together with other reformers in both parties, is seeking to change the way the political game is played here in Philadelphia. Please join us in Room # 108 at Parkway Central for this compelling program.
